"Mace-In Decay" is a bronze sculpture from the "Artifact Series". These works are all small in scale and are made from plastic detritus; toys, utensils, cocktail markers, etc. This piece plays with the idea of weapons and soldiers where the soldiers become the spikes on the ball and chain. This is a unique bronze. 'Curiosity' was a recent show at Winterowd Fine Art in Santa Fe. To see more of this series visit cwarestudio. The patina work on this was alot of fun; silver nitrate, ferric nitrate and titanium dioxide were used.

Crazy "CRUSH"cake rings may be a little Alice in Wonderland. But some days that's just what we need to wear! The third and fourth rings here are 'cakes' and the others are simple "CRUSH"es. The first one has some bling for fun!

today was mostly spent on the patination of a sculpture and on figuring out web design and presence. so, it was a day spent with actual jewelry making not happening and ideas growing in the back of my mind - all the projects i want to do: aluminum casting from foam with carolingian attributes, new leaf forms as fall is approaching and i love the leaves, a "CRUSH" rainbow.........................

This is a method for thinking out loud.........does anyone else care about my product photography? Not per se. However, people do respond to a good photo! I am trying to decide whether to shoot new photos on black, and if so, does velvet really work? Maybe somethng more matte. I like the reflections of the shots done on glass....................it must be time to experiment more.

Just read this and thought this is a fun fact! This is how much energy one 'CRUSH' will save!
Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to keep a 100-watt bulb burning for almost four hours or provide enough power to a television for three hours.

Six months? I can't believe it has been that long! Ware Jewelry had a successful fall. We participated in the Recycle Santa Fe show in November which was a lot of fun. The holidays were busy as well and we are finally ready to face the new year. A bumpy start, but we're up and running.

This is a bit of a side track, but we had a lot of fun making encaustic monotypes. Here are some of the paintings the kids made! Encaustic is painting with hot wax-here the kids used a hot plate and transferred their images to paper.

This is a detail shot from The Persian Butterfly, a one-of-a-kind neck piece. I love the quality of the metal where it has been worn down and the warm tones created by the patina over the existing pattern. Again, this is inspired by all the worn out, repainted, run over, man-handled pieces of metal out there.

We just got back from two trunk shows in Southern California! Naturally, it was chaos so I do not have photos. But let me tell you about one man who bought a "CRUSH". This is a man who gardens, landscapes and does other hard outside work. All my years growing up, we would see him with his mower working hard. He is gruff and a little scary (as a kid). He sports a fishing cap, a T-shirt and a jacket to keep the sun off. Anyway, he liked the necklaces and got one to wear for fun and as a conversation piece. This was really fun for me.................! I enjoy that my daughter and her friends, 10ish, love them and my dad, 70ish, also wears one 24/7. It is fun seeing who is tickled by these and who isn't!
